New York Times Best-Selling Author Visits Tiger Creek Elementary

Recently, Lisa McMann, New York Times best-selling author of the Unwanted series, introduced her newest book to the world by visiting Tiger Creek Elementary.  Mrs. McMann is the author of 19 books for young adults interested in adventure, suspense, and extraordinary characters. The fourth and fifth grade students of Tiger Creek have been reading the first book, Going Wild, in her new series and were anxious to talk with the author.  Mrs. McMann described the daily work of an author and while exciting, it is also a passion for learning.  The students created an online bulletin board using the CCPS one to one technology sharing their thoughts with the author to complete an interactive experience.  The author introduced the next book in the series, Predator and Prey before joining the students in the media center for a book signing.  Students and adults alike were caught up in the mesmerizing fantasy of the new series and enjoyed the conversations with the author.  It is not everyday that our CCPS students have the opportunity to work with a New York Times best-selling author.
